Jessica Baliff is playing later this month at Windy and Carl's Stormy Records. I've heard good things about her stuff, but have never heard any of it myself. Any thoughts or suggestions???

I like her first two albums on Kranky, but admit I've not heard much more. There's a strong Low connection but she's not a clone.

I'd never heard her before the track she sings on the new Odd Nosdam lp, but she's got a divine voice.

I've only heard her second album ("Hour of the Trace") and the tracks from last year's Kranky komp so I'm a few years out of date as well. The album I do have is sublime, and it's definitely a lot closer in style to Charalambides than Low, despite the fact that Alan Sparhawk produced her first two records.

she's also one-half of Eau Claire, who have just put out a lovely EP on Clairecords

Eau Claire seconded, though I wish the EP had more songs. She's also got a Flying Saucer Attack side to her that I really like. Her collab with Dave Pearce as Clear Horizon is fab.
