Chris Martin: "[This is] the greatest thing that's ever been organized in the history of the world."

PB, Monday, 4 July 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

Hey, I made the same moon landings joke on my blog.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 4 July 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Oh, fuck Jonas Salk! If I can't die in an iron lung, I'm not interested!

Well, he also thinks Richard Ashcroft is the best singer in the world and Bittersweet Symphony is the best song ever written so you can get a sense where he is coming from.

gspm (gspm), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:04 (twenty years ago)

everyone knows the moon landing (and the holocaust) were fake!

SHINE ON AMERICA (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

Pyramids, big, impressive yet ultimately pointless. Not like Live8 at all, oh no siree.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:09 (twenty years ago)

Chris Martin obviously has not been to the Boulder dam.

van nostrum (Buck Van Smack), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:12 (twenty years ago)

It's not?! Q lied to me!

Well, it is an opinion he has so if you think that is true than perhaps you'd agree with his other sentiment. If you don't agree then it is easy to look at the things he said on the day and wonder if the coloured tape on his fingers was wrapped a little too tightly.

gspm (gspm), Monday, 4 July 2005 22:50 (twenty years ago)

Martin tries to come off as modest. He tries to come off as cute. He said the above quote the same way he says "if you all stand up now we'll buy you all ice cream" during his concerts. He says crap all the time in a thinly-veiled attempt to appear self-effacing. But he's not being serious nor is he dumb. So how about we give this a rest?

Wookie Rookie (Wookie Rookie), Monday, 4 July 2005 23:06 (twenty years ago)

If we can't tear down our slebs, then who CAN we tear down??

Leeeeeee (Leee), Monday, 4 July 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

I'd much rather make fun of people I find annoying.

PB, Monday, 4 July 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

In what way does Chris Martin not match that description?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 07:48 (twenty years ago)

He does. I was replying to this: he's not being serious nor is he dumb. So how about we give this a rest?

PB, Tuesday, 5 July 2005 12:30 (twenty years ago)

I didn't see Martin throwing any park benches in Princes Street yesterday.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 12:34 (twenty years ago)

On my blog, I went for: Great Wall Of China, Second World War, Swindon.

Somebody should compile a little list.
