OP8 - "Slush"

OP8 is not an ilx meme but rather a band that released a one-off in '97: Lisa Germano, Howe Gelb, Joey Burns, and John Convertino. I just found out about this recently and as luck would have it, I found a copy of this on CD today. Fantastic cover selections and a more accessible take on the Giant Sand sound.

has anyone else heard this?

Haven't listened to it in ages, but loved it at the time. And still have it.

I recall it working really well as a sort of good companion to "Glum," the closest Giant Sand ever came to something cohesive.

It sounds pretty good. I'll check it out

fantastic record. again, i never listen to it, but i have very fond feelings towards it. it's a vibe that i don't go for often, but it is a lovely record.

Yeah, this was good. Just re-listening now, I'm not sure they achieved much with the Neil Young cover though...
