This is one of my favorite records of the past year, actually. It's a little bit different than the Emergency Response EP, but not drastically so- still the same Dischord-ish feel, interesting song structures (sometimes), and really melodic guitar (for whatever reason Despistado reminds me of a bizarrely aggressive version of Orange Juice).

I dunno from the original EP, but the album's all right, I guess. "Dischordish" is OTM - they like themselves some Fugazi. And that's like as in like like. But not like as in love as in capacity to hate as in "father yes son I want to kill you". But, for baby steps (which this was), it's OK. Dropping refs to other bands w/ some sort of cachet to gussy this thing up is only going to make folks sound like hapless street teamers (which fans in essence are, so, hey, here's a staple gun, get to work).

On a personal note, this is the first time ever that I didn't use "cache" when I meant to use "cachet". I'm so happy.
