bugmenot is a tool to get around taking out (free) registrations like those the New York Times etc insist you perform in order to read one shitty article. This annoys.

And those others are services that require a password due to being pay-for-services, hence the need for unique, protected users.

I am sure that if someone posted a password and login to a digital music for cash service, the people who run Bugmenot would toss it as soon as it came to their attention, since they're not in the business of being crooks.

From the standpoint of Bugmenot, it would be a liability to assume that such a submission to its database did not come from a stolen account in which the user did not know his login had been compromised.
