It took a Tony Senghore side project, Wackdaddies, for me to discover this gem, as they cover the song in their odd sorta way on their 2000 album Fear Of A Wack Planet.... (although it was mistitled "Would You" on the vinyl version)

Listening to the sample is making me all excited. I NEEEEEED to hear the original!!!!

You'd think this song was all about gay trysts on Hampstead Heath, listening to the lyrics.

Apparently not.

I only really remember the chorus. It's a great chorus.

I've only got a half memory of this. I start singing it in my head and halfway through the verse it morphs into 'Living By Numbers'. Remind me how it goes again.

The verse is great ... the chorus is very ELO. It has an odd feel but very of-its-time ... sort of: ex-punk who has grown up, teamed with Giorgio Moroder and Geoff Lynne. ...if that helps.

"I've got to get some sense... back into my head"

Was this early Nick Straker? Before "A Little Bit of Jazz"?

Why in the hell is that song called "A Little Bit of Jazz"?

I was surprised to find he has a web site: http://www.nickstraker.com/

Some of his later stuff is nice, too: "Straight Ahead" (1982) and "Against the Wall" (1983).
