Has anyone attended any of Corgan's solo shows yet? What are your thoughts?

I'm listening to Chicago-WXRT's live broadcast from last night as I write this and am pleased, but not overwhelmed. Its a little too close to album perfect, though he throws in some interesting new tunes and covers.

Seeing him tonight for the second Chicago show. Hope its more fun in person.

My buddy saw him in NY a couple weeks ago... Said he was the tighest he'd ever sounded....

Brett, how was the gig?

Forgot about this thread, thanks for bumping it mindinrewind.

It was pretty good overall. I'm a fan of Corgan's despite my issues here and there with his personality and the decisions he makes.

The stage set up was very cool, very 80s New Wave. But it was almost distracting. The sound at the Vic was very good, but Corgan himself seemed hampered from gashing his thumb during the opening number, "A100."

My review is up on www.staticmultimedia.com/content/music I'm not sure if there is another way to put a link up here or not...haven't done much of that yet.

The stage set up was stunning when he played on Letterman (?), much like you described -- very mid-80's Depeche Mode (black outfits, stoic poses) (surely the ressemblances are intentional).

Yeah, I saw part of that...I'd say its definitely an hommage to the halcyon days of Depeche and others.
