i was home sick with a fever today and wanted to listen to something that wasn't too melancholy or bleak. and realized there wasnt such a thing in my entire collection. so i spent the day clutching my drool-encrusted pillow, my hallucinations freakafied by Godflesh's Streetcleaner. any suggestions for slightly more uplifting music?

Mmm music for a cinder-block head - Solved! Early Herbie Hancock.

The Lovin' Spoonfulor The Turtles - Any Greatest Hits will do. I find Groovin' with Mr Bloe works as well.

Any of the Rainbow Quartz roster. Especially The Shazam and Cotton Mather. Guaranteed to put a face on your smile.

Dude, half of T. Rex's output is sheer tripped out sadness. The other half clearly isn't, I grant you. ;-)

The Boo Radley's in general are pretty uplifting.

Odd that there are very responses to this thread. Surely you're not all a bunch of miserable fucks out there? Anyway, there's only one 'happy' song that you need to hear: 'we rock harder' by Fine China. Fantastic little song. It's in my head like a long wiggly tongue and I'm mentioning it constantly. Sorry.

Anything by the Squirrels is guaranteed to bring good cheer. And most everything by Rocket From the Crypt.

Talking Heads' "And She Was" always puts me in a good mood, as does the Clash's "Rudy Can't Fail." De La Soul. The Specials. Fishbone.
