Fugazi remasters

Has anyone heard the remastered versions of the first three Fugazi discs that came out a couple of years ago? Do they sound much better than the old versions? I remember reading about them in TapeOp, and the engineer was making it out to be a night and day change, but that was it. Just wondering if I should replace the copies I have (though the price is definitely right - thanks Dischord!).

Whatever. They're just $8 each, so I bought them. I'll post my own assessment when they arrive.

Weird, how did I not know about this? I'd certainly say Repeater could use a little remastering. Maybe Killtaker as well.

There's something strange about finding out about this, though. It's like learning one of your relatives is going to be laquered and preserved in a museum.

The ones that were remastered were "13 Songs," "Repeater" and "Steady Diet of Nothing." (A bunch of other Dishord titles - Embrace, Rites of Spring among them - were remastered as well by Inner Ear's current in-house engineer, I think). At the least, the Louderizer treatment will be appreciated, to bring the levels up. I'm not expecting any surprises in terms of nuance.

four years pass...

So did anyone ever pick up the remastered "In On the Kill Taker," "Red Medicine" and "End Hits?" How do they sound? I'm most curious about the latter two, since "Kill Taker" has always sounded pretty sharp to me, but I bet all three could be brought up to dynamic snuff.

A friend borrowed my entire collection years ago, never gave them back and I forgot who had them. Dischord kindly sold me replacements for pretty cheap, and they were all remasters, woo hoo. They're pretty much perfect -- mainly just louder without clipping.
