Am I crazy to think that a duet between Tom Waits and Bjork would be really great to hear?

- Liz Fraser and Trent Reznor. Not so great.
- I don't know if Rickie Lee Jones and Tom Waits ever sang together. They lived together for a while. I wouldn't mind hearing them in a duet.
- Neil Young and Alan Vega would probably not be such a great idea.

I'm not aware of a Rickie Lee Jones/Tom Waits duet, but I assume everybody knows Tom Waits recorded an album with Crystal Gayle...? It was the soundtrack for the movie "One From The Heart". (It's a great, great album for those who like pre-Swordfish Tom Waits.)

Personally, I'd like to hear a Michael McDonald/Anita Baker duet. I'd imagine it could sound quite good, even though I wouldn't be able to understand a single word they were singing.

speaking of Tom Waits, I think that a duet with Dr. John would be terrific! The Bjork collaboration also sounds good in theory...

I always thought that a duet between Tom Waits and Kate Bush would be pretty cool.

Actually, can I take this opportunity to ask Ned Raggett why Boom Boom Room aren't mentioned by AMG's All Music. They owned Wardour Street in 1988.

Normie, Saturday, 9 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

wowie zowie...you guys are fun! YES! I didn't mind the "One From The Heart" thing--only Tom Waits didn't completely match up to the crystal clear vocals of Crystal Gayle (spelling?)--that's why I think someone like Bjork would be neat--the inflection and attitude in her voice...
