A suggestion on T/S threads from little ol' me - YSI? Links?

So, I keep realizing that I have been frequently taking sides w/o actually knowing what I'm taking sides for or against. Which makes me, I believe, a shit-talking asshole. So my suggestion is that when the initial poster has the songs in question, a YSI link to them would perhaps make the discussion more valid/intelligible. Any thoughts?

(Prompted, BTW, by the "O Superman" etc. argument, where I soon realized that I was arguing against things I knew nothing about due to my much-avowed love for said song. Oops.)

i'm sure you can get them off p2p. this isn't a filesharing site.

That's not the point I'm trying to make (and to be honest, I've YSI'd things to people far more than I've downloaded). I just keep noticing that I (and others) spend a lot of time on T/S threads raving avout greatness/awfulness of said song, and then slowly start admitting that we haven't actually HEARD the other choices. Which, I think, makes the debate specious at best.

I'm well aware that I can find said tracks, as we all can, but why not facilitate the process and improve the conversation? Assuming that people ask these questions because of wanting the opinions of others, why would this be a problem? Obviously, if you don't want to YSI, it's not that hard to find links/streams that shouldn't offend anyone, right?

On the other hand, if you are accusing me of trolling for free music,

A) You're wrong.
B) I don't see you popping up in the rolling "YSI/Gmail this to me thread" and bitching. Which, given your objection, ought to be more offensive...

Sorry if this seems like an overreaction, but if you re-read my post, I think you'll see that getting free mp3s is far from my intention. I just think that the discussion at hand might be a bit improved.
