Do you judge music?

I mean, I think most people figure out if they like a particular piece of music or not, but when you hear music you don't like, do you think it's BAD? Or even when it's music you might like for one reason or another, do you pass judgment on it, like "shit, I like it, but yeah, it sucks"?

I'm just thinking about this because there's people here who read and write music criticism, and I've noticed a lot of that is based on passing judgment. Also, because I've been drinking most of the day.

I'm also not hating on the judging -- like, Alex in NYC is the Judge Dredd of this joint, and he's aweseom, and the noize dudes, and whatever. I'm just not a judge, you know, I eat every damn thing.

see, now, a judge should be bringin' it down, instead of giving Prince records three stars in the local free weekly paper.

fuck it, I've decided I actually am gonna hate on the judging -- if you're JUDGES, bring the fucking penalties -- like, don't be a pussy, bring it the fuck DOWN.

I judge music a little too much. I have my own "hate club" around here.
If music is played well and written well, I respect those who created it. I may not personally like the piece, but that is a matter of taste.
Even if it is not the most well written work yet is played with a high sense of musicianship, I can find that commendable.
If music is played poorly or written poorly, I have no time for it. Others may get a thrill out of hearing amateurish playing or derivative writing, I get nothing out of that.

what is music that is "written well"? is it complicated?
