I just read that in the paper. I have fond memories of watching him play with the mingus big band at Fez on more than one occasion.(and fond memories of sue mingus acting wacky at the door.) he was great with that band.

I almost started this thread earlier today. Instead I'll start this thread. I saw him play quite a few times with the Mingus Big Band. RIP John.
