Bios should be up at www.notlame.com.

And I *like* that Bravery track. Of course, it's a pretty faithful cover of my fave Cars tune, so...

Who In The World Are These People??

what you're looking at there, dear boy, is a u.s. power-pop convention. jon auer is a ringer, having been one-half of the posies. many of the others grew up with posies posters in their bedrooms.

That cover of "It's All I Can Do" by The Bravery IS dynamite.

That cover of "It's All I Can Do" by The Bravery IS dynamite.

High point: They put That Bravery Feel on everything EXCEPT Elliot Easton's extraordinary solo, which is reproduced with absolute fidelity. It's a perfect solo, and changing a note would only bring the whole thing crashing down. Glad someone had the wisdom to see that.

Low point: It's a small thing, but "I thought you were great" gets a variant melody from the other fourth lines FOR A REASON, PEOPLE. Singing it "straight" sucks out the goodness.

owsley is the kid of the lsd guy. supposedly. he does mediocre power pop heavily influenced by the beatles (do i even need to say that?).

jason falkner can be capable of great great things but i haven't cared for a while. he's too much a part of that jon brion l.a. smuggo thing.

Got some ballz0rs to try his hand at "Touch And Go," though. What with the general lack of affection for Panorama and all...

rogermexico (rogermexico), Thursday, 14 July 2005 06:33 (twenty years ago)

i thought panorama was the shaggy-dog hipster favorite! ("panorama" the song is outstanding; i don't like "touch and go" so much cuz the chorus doesn't live up to that cool verse hook.)
