Was in Buenos Aires revelling in the cheap cds and found Serie de Oro Rock and really fell in love with track "Candombe". Sounds like a song The Bees would cover (see Os Mutantes). Now I'd like to find more less well-known stuff, incorporating 60's pop and traditional music. If anyone has a recommendation...could be S. American, Tibetan, Ghanaian, doesn't matter.

Check out Uruguayan Music from that era onwards. Uruguay is a small country facing Argentina to the east. Lesser known because of lack of great budget, music made there has always fascinated great musicians who by chance get to know it.
Recommendations: Mateo, Rada, Roos, OlimareƱos, Viglietti, Opa, and a long etc, hope you'll dig it.
