No one started a thread about this yet so...um...why not me?

It comes out Sept. 13th in the U.S.

Does anyone know if it leaked or if anyone has it yet?

I thought their first album had some good songs. I'll be interested to see which way they go this time.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 19:45 (twenty years ago)

This band made me sell my ears.

Reggie, Wednesday, 13 July 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

Stellastarr* rox you all suck

Indie Justice (elwisty), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 19:48 (twenty years ago)

Haven't The Killers stolen their music and sold it back to the massess?

DJ Martian (djmartian), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

I dunno DJ Martin.

I'm not a "HUGE" stellastarr* fan but I really like their akward sound (is that how you spell "akward"?).

I like that guy's Tyrannosaurus Rex (the dinosaur, not the band) like vocals.

as much as i hate the motherfuckin killers, at least they're *enough* to hate - whereas these losers are c-list nu-wavers at best.

So you like Mainstream Losers?

What a posuer.

Michael Costello (MichaelCostello1), Thursday, 14 July 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

hey,
don't sweat it michael costello. this guy *loves* joanna newsome. and chances are, he also likes LCD soundsystem. so give him a break..... he's only been in college for a year and a half! seriously, he's just getting his feet in this thing. and one day he will walk on his own. i mean, look at him! he already sold his fiona apple and ani difranco CDS when he found out that they were completely irrelevant to youth culture even though he'd been hanging on to them since he graduated in '98 (when they were STILL both irrelevant to anything but hardcore poseurs [radio cling-ons] and johnny-come-lately-dykes). well, perhaps that's giving a little too much credit. said person probably just got a computer from their mama and their daddy for their birthday and decided to look up music aside from green day and nickelback.

at any rate, don't give anyone on ilxor.com credit for appreciating good music. most of the peoples taste here is fourth hand and the rest are just pretending they like it so they have something to name-check on their blog.

well, i guess also i don't care for stellastarr either, but at least i have turf to stand on before i rattle like these kids on ilxor.

tad, Thursday, 14 July 2005 07:56 (twenty years ago)

who let them back into a studio?!!!

luckily less people will care this time and maybe then they can go away for ever.

ulggh, id almost forgotten them, but now i have one of their songs stuck in my head.

b b, Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

Is it "My Coco?" Haha! That's stuck in my head too.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

yep...

this is the only record i honestly tossed across the street when i finished reviewing it.

damn that song

b b, Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

I've only heard about half of the first album and thought it was kind of generic sounding. They're like what Bush was to grunge. There was that one song on the first album that completely ripped-off Pulp. In fact i think it was called "This is a Pulp Song" or something like that. On september 13th i will definitely be passing this up for Sigur Ros and SFA.

That One Guy (That One Guy), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

And if you'll excuse me i need to shower now.

That One Guy (That One Guy), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

at least i have turf to stand on before i rattle like these kids on ilxor

um, that "turf" being....?

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Thursday, 14 July 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

I dunno why I like stellastarr*. I even type in their correct name (with the lower case 's' and the * at the end).

Why are they even being compared to The Killers? I think they jave their own sound, it might not be "Comfortable" to hear but that's why I think it's pretty good.

So CHEERS! to stellastarr*, CHEERS! for your uncomfortable music.

Michael Costello (MichaelCostello1), Thursday, 14 July 2005 17:29 (twenty years ago)
