Anybody else wondering why Hot Snakes decided to disband?

i mean, aside from the obvious "touring sucks".

i am still quite saddened by this...

according to a post on the swami board it sounds like they never planned to be more than a little side-project and their current success basically means they'd have to commit or take it easy. They may reunite whenever but they'd just rather not stress the cross-country activity necessary to keep it going indefinitely.

Huh. I've never heard them, but I'm always interested in why bands disband.

I think they were never a "band" right? They'll probably make another record sometime.

Shit, I love them.

well, i certainly hope they DO 'reactivate' at some point, cuz damn i'd LOVE to see em live...

i can understand not wanting to do the haul, but, hell! just be a studio project then...please?

i've been cycling thru they're albums recently and it's striking me just how much i want to see them do it live.

them and Mclusky...

eric = likes to rock, likes to work, might prefer that every second of his vacation time isn't devoted to the band
john = likes to rock, would like hot snakes to play more so he doesn't have to work

I still haven't heard the last record.

Absolutely incredible live. One of the very few quitar sounds I still thirst for. Just a comment, I realize this doesn't contribute to the thread.

Jehu live in 94 were frightening, stunning, gorgeous.

that care-o-meter should be off the charts...

Considering that this is Reis + Froberg's third band together, I'm sure they'll put something together sooner or later. Whether or not they call it 'Hot Snakes' probably depends on their desire to play these songs again.
They had good records, a great live show, and one of the coolest-looking websites in music.

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Saturday, 16 July 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

apparently they were playing different Jehu songs at every show on the Australian tour last week - could be that a revival's next on the cards.

No, I have not wondered about this. Thank you for asking. Take care.

i KNOW Dr.G, sir. and you are not he!

why does the care-o-meter have a Pi symbol??

and is it accurate?

so many questions, so little answers.
