1. Pete has child with Lisa Moorish, who also has had one by Liam.

2. Story goes round that Liam, while not contesting parental responsib and maintenance, is annoyed that Pete's kid will also benefit.

3. Liam, keen to make it known that there is no bad between himself and Pete, arranges for Babyshambles to support Oasis on big stadium gigs.

4. Noel says something to the effect of "big opportunity, dude. Don't blow it"

5. Babyshambles don't turn up.

1. NME writers suddenly realise that a/there's not actually much going on here musically and b/this is a bit of a sorry & k-lame spectacle isn't it.

2. NME writers actually go and look for something good to cover!!!!!

Babyshambles were dropped from the first Oasis show at short notice because he was partaying in Paris and the scheduled flight was due to land in Soton five minutes before he was due on stage (Duh-as if no one in France has ever heard of a helicopter). The risk of them turning up late to the second was considered too great (gig overruns mean a serious risk of promoters losing licence, paying fines etc) so they were bumped. Oasis sold out the shows by themselves, so it hardly mattered. Nice to know he pissed a decent six figure sum away though.
The expression 'cock jockey' was used to describe Silly Pete by the promoter who told me the entire feeble saga. Doherty may not be rich but his mossus certainly is.

Traditionally in the "pissing your talent up the wall" meme, the evidence of talent comes first...

Babyshambles Sign Long-Term Deal With Parlophone

Parlophone can today announce that Babyshambles have signed a long-term deal with the label. Having already forged a strong relationship with the band, who released the critically acclaimed ‘The Blinding EP’ on Parlophone’s Regal imprint in December, Parlophone are delighted Babyshambles have committed their future to the label.

Miles Leonard, Parlophone Managing Director, says “We’re extremely pleased to be welcoming such a vibrant and talented band into the Parlophone label. Babyshambles, justifiably, have a great reputation for crafting some of the most exciting music around today, and in Peter Doherty they have one of the best songwriters of his generation. Parlophone have a long history of working with the best British bands, from Radiohead to Blur to Coldplay, and we see Babyshambles very much as continuing this tradition.”

dear god.
i thought that EP was utter shite but ya gotta love that line radiohead - blur - coldplay -> b'shambles ..

i'm still waiting for chris morris/dom joly/noel edmonds/DLT to remove the hat and the pallid-addict mask and say "HAH, YOU STUPID CUNTS, IT'S ALL BEEN A HUGE WIND-UP AND YOU ALL FELL FOR IT. TWATS."

because the alternative is too, too grim.

Did anyone actually buy that "blinding" e.p., £6?

There seemed to be an awful lot of them in Fopp/HMV/elsewhere.

But the label has a get-out clause. They could pull the plug at any moment.
