Which is a tastier slice of homoerotic pop?

They both taste like shit.

All you need is the "vs. The Killers' 'Andy You're a Star'" for me to know the answer to this question.

It's the other one, you see.

"Michael" is awesome.

Check the "Simon Booker" remix, b-side of the 7"

Sorry, that should read "Simon Bookish"

That's "Matinee" as well.

The Killers song fits the gay panic tradition and is thus more conventional. On the other hand very few homo-action songs are as gleeful and giddy as "Michael."

I really disliked "Michael" for some reason when I was in London and it was playing constantly in shops and the like (seemingly on rotation with Elvis, The Scissor Sisters and "Galvanize", and nothing else) - almost deliberately conservative and "straight" sounding in comparison to their prior singles.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Friday, 15 July 2005 15:27 (twenty years ago)

I'd prefer Duran Duran's "Michael, you've got a lot of explaining to do"

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 15 July 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

I like both, but "Michael" is the superior track.

Just listened to the Killers' album this morning and just have to say that the first 5-6 songs are pretty stellar. Yeah, it slides off a bit, but the rest is enjoyable.

I'll side with Brett on Michael.
