good song, it just takes awhile to get started.

That's part of what I like about it, though. I could happily listen to those first four minutes over and over.

Yeah! Moderate surprise that there's not been more interest in this on ILM, but I Will Possess Your Heart is fantastic. Especially the "full" version, those four minutes of rolling, almost motorik drums and splashes of guitar, piano and vibes are just great. For an album taster it's a real statement of intent. Love Gibbard's creepy stalking lyrics too.

Heard the whole thing on XM the other night and it sounded absolutely fantastic, very anxious to hear more of the new album. Gotta admit though, I get a Phish kinda vibe off that instrumental section.

I have long suspected that I might actually like some Phish if I were to actually sit down and listen to it. But I'm not about to.

Serious question, jaymc: why not?

The Open Door EP is an extended play by Washington indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, comprising songs recorded during the Narrow Stairs sessions that were left out due to not fitting with the album's overall feel, plus a demo version of the track "Talking Bird" from the album.
