I had this program where you could run a MIDI through and tell it which phone you used, and it would tell you have to enter it into the phone, but it stopped working before I could find a good MIDI of Cliff Nobles and Company's 'The Horse.' That is my dream ringtone (which is, I realize, a really dorktastic phrase).

in the past, however, it has played "being boiled", "smoke on the water" and the commodore 64 loading music ocean software used circa 1985. (that was a herculean feat, getting that on to a nokia 7650.)

I created this to use as the ringtone to a phone I had several years back. The first phone I used it on was my Hitachi G1000 which I believe you could kill someone with if you hit them just right on the head, it was that huge:

Despite all these years and a whole bunch of phones, I, being a creature of habit, always load up the same MP3 as my only ringtone and lock it in.

I am boring. But at least I always know when my own phone is ringing.

i have no ringtone and i don't have my phone on vibrate.

if I'm at home or the office i have my phone out where i can see it, so it lights up when i get a message or call. if I'm walking around i have headphones in and calls and texts interrupt whatever I'm listening to.

My ringtone is a long and horrible scream from Eye Yamatsuka (it comes from the Naked City track “The Blade”) and my incoming-text tone is Napalm Death’s “You Suffer.”

My phone is programmed only to ring when my wife calls and it's set to the piano outro to "100,000 Fireflies"

i actually leave my phone on dnd all the time so nobody gets to hear my amazingly clever ringtones or text message notifications (i found an isolated recording of the sting to "the ambassadors of death" which is even more dramatic than the tardis cloister bell i was using, but it's not something i need to hear dozens of times a day)
