Yeah, so I've got a '65 Jazzmaster that's beat to hell but still sounds ducky - the thing is that the frets are pretty damn worn down and I've got some dead-sounding spots and the repair dude I go to said that I'm probably better off getting a new neck than getting the thing refretted (as in it'll be cheaper and I don't particularly care about the aesthetics of a newer neck on an older guitar).
The problem is that i'm NOT a gearhead in the least, particuarly regarding the instruments themselves. So I figured maybe one or two of the guitarish types here could assist. So any recommendations on where to go/what to get? Thanks for yr help.

well, anywho, Right next to that store, which has the COOLEST BOSS EVER, is a little used music shop called Nuclear or something. You should try there.
Hope this helps.

By the way, who are those new chickies at the Depot? I don't know anyone these days! Are they lame? They kinda seem like they're lame. Katie and Daly told me that they hated them, but they never like the new girls so that's not necessarily saying much.

also, is your repair guy good? i mean, if you got a new neck, you would still have to put a lot into it: either new tuners, or using the old tuners installed on the new neck, a nut - which requires some skilled work, and it's extremely important to tuning stability, and you still need to buy frets separately and will have to have them dressed and set up by your repairman. Shit, a neck is a lot of work, I'd think it'd be much cheaper to just refret the old guitar - it's probably more routine work than replacing an old neck.
