Man it goes down tonight like it does every July and every November in the studios of KPFT. It's our official tribute to DJ Screw night. Man, I have confirmations from Hawk, ESG and Big Bub so far so who knows who they will bring and who else will show up. We got calls into everyone, at least Chill and Bub say then been letting everyone know. i been slow on the phone with the new family and all but I am trying to make some things happen man. I will let you know more if anything comes up before the show. If not just tune in as usual.

I lived in Florida from 1983-2003.

Pony tapes circa 1989 is when I first heard the slowed down mixes that Skrew gets credit for.

I lived in Florida from 1983-2002!!

We used to sell the fuck out of Jam Pony tapes at the record store i worked at in high school. I was a surly longhair and didn't understand the tapes or the appeal.

When I got into college and heard about chopped and screwed music, I knew all about it from the Jam Pony tapes, but never in my wildest dreams could have imagined that JPE fucking INVENTED that shit!!!!

I really blew it by spending my high school listening to Primus.

I always listened to their regular (not screwed) mixes in the store, but never bought any, since i couldn't see spending $10 on a tape. I blew it.
