Enhanced CD Content: S/D?

I recently purchased Garbage's "Beautiful Garbage" CD and began playing with the interactive mixer feature included on the Enhanced CD portion of the disc. What are people's opinions of features like this on CDs? Are there other discs out there that feature content like this (mixers, etc.)?

Thanks, eclectomaniac

only useful if you listen to your CDs on a computer, which you shouldn't, if you want to hear anything...

The Poster Children's LP RTFM comes with a tour diary that was a lot of fun to read, pictures, and I think one of those navigatable building tours of their studio. Also a game that was boring.

g's right. The mixer is the ONLY way to hear the record off of a CD-ROM drive or any high-end equipment. Its boobytrapped to "prevent piracy"; It copy-prevention...er...'protection.'
Theres three threads in the archive on this subject (One I posted shows how to defeat the protection by using an alternate version of CDFS.VXD. I'm such a naughty DMCA-defying piraty bad person.)

The "enhanced CD" in the Captain Beefheart "Grow Fins" set and the one in the Tony Conrad box are useful, a rare chance to see any actual video footage of these gentlemen. No copyright protection garbage either.

On Kid Koala's CD you can play a video game where you shoot giant records.

I've noticed that in the UK a lot more CD singles now come with a 'bonus' CD Rom video 'track'. I presume this adds to their 'perceived value' without actually increasing their running time (singles over 20 min (?) are ineligible for the UK charts.)
