Well, do you mean Eric Malmberg's "Den GÄtfulla MÀnniskan"?

Like preventing yourself from liking an album just because you happen to think it's got a dumb name. Moreover, I don't see what's particularly stupid about either of those album titles.

Oh I'm a tremendous dick.

Bands You could never allow yourself to like, given their (to your ears) indefensibly stupid name.

Moreover, I don't see what's particularly stupid about either of those album titles.

I don't know, just found them irritating, especially Kid A. Since I've heard a lot of tracks from the album, and I found them irritating too. So this is not an accident.

zeus, Monday, 25 July 2005 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, sorry for the plagium, Alex.

zeus, Monday, 25 July 2005 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

No, Zeus, `tis I who am sorry. Sorry for saying you have hang-ups, when, plainly, I have them as well. In abundance, no less.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 25 July 2005 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

OK :)

zeus, Monday, 25 July 2005 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex in NYC, you got **soft**, bro!

"Hey, Man, Smell My Finger"

(my pick for Worst Album Name Ever)

Don't know if this really counts, but I've always had a special loathing for LP titles that substitute a mess of symbols for a proper title. I guess Led Zeppelin IV would be the most prominent example, but also that Ministry LP of several years back and I'm sure if I ever get my music collection out of moving boxes I could dig up some avant-garde type LPs that are guilty of the same sin (hey Anthony Braxton, I'm looking in your direction!). But I might still end up liking the music regardless.

I like Radiohead well enough but always thought "Hail to the Thief" was a stupid title; I suppose it may have something to do with me never picking up the LP.

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
Blur - Think Tank (heard later, and it was really their worst album)
Basement Jaxx - Kish Kash, Rooty.
Teenage Fanclub - Howdy!
Sparklehorse - Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot
The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness

If you can love this album you can truly forgive any album title (and I do...).
