Not bothered, but hey I never liked them (enough)

This whole Doors-reunion thing has always confused me. Do people really love the Doors enough that a group without half the members (including the singer), with at least two lawsuits against it, and a half-assed take on the name, actually draws people and makes money?

Queen, to thread, naturally...

Is anyone suing Queen? I'm talking strictly as a business venture here.

I also never really liked the Doors much either, so that may be coloring my perception.

I think the problem is that two of the members (Manzarek & Krieger) have nothing better to do, while the other two can't perform and don't want their band's name associated with such a lame act. I doubt that any of them really care about the little amount of money this lounge-act will rake in.

Also, I can't stand the Doors, for what it's worth.

They must REALLY have nothing better to do if they're willing to put up with these headaches, when they could simply call themselves something else, do new music and people would think they were cool for soldiering on. And they could throw in a couple of Doors covers per show, which people would go wild for.

It really seems that the decision to call it the Doors is motivated by money; it just seems like there couldn't possibly be enough in this deal to make all this worthwhile.

They've made $3-4 million touring so far, which is hardly an insignificant sum regardless of M & K's personal fortunes.

Plus, to be fair, Man and Krie have been 'doing their own' for some time. (very obvious obs about the final two "doors" albums insert)...

Now they can go back to producing punk rock records.
