Beatnik Filmstars? I just remember owning a 7" of theirs on orange vinyl - all other details escape me as I charity shopped it not long afterwards.

They might be looking for a new label for quite some time...

Beatnik Filmstars are one of the world most under rated bands ever.
I challange anyone to listen to Phase 3, In Hospitable,Talentless Slags or Boss Disque and tell me differently. I can't wait for the new record. Bloke who charity shoped his 7"...twat.

I have to say, that the 7" that was 'charity shoped', wasn't exactly our greatest moment! Anyway, we have got a record deal, infact two to be exact. read all about it on the web site. (or not... depending...it wasn't an order!)

seven months pass...

Somehow this came out without me even knowing. So much for relying on MTV! I just got a chance to hear it, and I'm torn. I thought the music was outstanding. brilliant. fucking fantastic. I wish I was one of those types that knew how to sample and cut/paste into dance tracks. This grit would really add some character to the club scene. However, something about the vocals really bothered me. Maybe they were too loud in the mix, for the effect that was on them. I don't know? I'll have to listen to it some more. I loved their last 3 albums. Anybody know what they have been doing for the last 8 years?
