i'm looking around for recording software for a pc. something pretty easy to use to record a guitar/voice that has some effects etc. something that has everything. something like reason but is able to record so it would idealy have a drum machine built in. is there such a thing? thanks.

If you get no joy searching, then email me and I'll help. I'm about to go to bed now though and this thread will probably have disappeared by the time I can write a decent reply...

I'd recommend Cubasis - very powerful and cheap ... it has synths, a drum machine ands can record audio and midi. You can usually find bona fide copies on Ebay for around 30 dollars.

The one thing you need to make sure is that your osund card is up to it.

Best of luck!

For a simple mono or stereo input, Audacity.

For multitracking, lately I'm using Cubasis but am annoyed by some things about it. Am thinking of switching to Cakewalk.
