"Musicians" - and fawning interviewers

Did anyone see "Musicians" on Bravo? Lou Reed was the guest. I know that Lou hates being asked stupid questions - so maybe I was waiting for stupid questions... but the interview seemed to be really bad.

"What were you thinking when you wrote Vicious?" "How come the riff from Sweet Jane is so infectious?"

Lou looked kind of bored to me. All of the questions seemed to be about things that were 20 years old, or older. Lou's answers seemed to be a bit short & dismissive - but I thought the questions were horrible.

Anyone else see it?

...And if you had the honorable/dubious task of interviewing Lou Reed, what would you ask him?

"Be honest. You like to suck cock, don't you?"

I saw about two minutes of this and felt embarrased for the entire world. Who was that guy doing the interview? I didn't know KMart sold sweaters for Mr. Potato Head. Isn't "Inside the Actors Studio" bad enough? I mean, they even had Billy Joel on there! I think Bravo is the worst network on cable.

There's another on tonight (Monday 2/11/02.) I forget who it's with - Sheryl Crow maybe. I have a perverted desire to watch some of it - like an accident and you just can't look away.

If I had to ask Lou Reed one question, it would be: "Why would you actually take a crap on someone's chest?" It just seems impossible that this would be a good time.

I think the reason the interviewer asked him so many questions about stuff from 20 years ago is that everything he's done since sounds like someone stepping in a bag of dirty diapers.

I saw it. Yick. Its that same suck-up vibe from the Actors Studio. I'd rather watch Charlie Rose by a long shot.

I saw it and concur with all the previous. One thing I did notice was that Lou now looks exactly like that robot Lou in one of his videos that tears its face off. I kept expecting that to happen during the interview.

The absolute worst fawning I've ever seen is each and every time Kurt Loder has ever interviewed Madonna.
