Davis McNitt (Rob Uptight.), Friday, 5 August 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

I have just used the same techniques to conclude that The The is the most popular band in the universe ever.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 5 August 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

Actually, Chicago beats them by far.

Chicago - 154,000,000
The The - 16,100,000

This is better than Billboard -- wow!

Davis McNitt (Rob Uptight.), Friday, 5 August 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

Oh, glory no:

Pitchfork - 707,000
ILX - 252,000

Herbie Reality (Rob Uptight.), Friday, 5 August 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

My step-dad always called Rap "Jungle Music".

Maybe there's some confusion here.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Friday, 5 August 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

Davis you have unfairly restricted things by searching for "The The," which excludes uses like "that new The album is great!" (Cf "that new Cramps album is so great.") Searching for "the" alone would return so many results that google won't even bother doing it, proving finally and BY SCIENCE that everyone loves Matt Johnson.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 5 August 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

Oh, glory no:

Pitchfork - 707,000
ILX - 252,000

Ummmm...

ILM - 2,200,000

Wow, Spencer, I BEG to differ:

Chicago - 154,000,000
Phoenix - 49,300,000

I don't know what that is in Roman numerals, but I'm betting it's more than "Chicago XIV".

David McNitt (Rob Uptight.), Friday, 5 August 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)
