Slightly bummed. Looked great on paper, but the performances sounds constrained, inhibited -- like he was afraid to cut loose in the company of these session greats. Guy's kind of a task-master, hard to imagine him telling Steve Cropper to stop being so lazy and PLAY the fucking guitar.

I have a bootleg solo take on the Doug Sahm song for instance that is WAY more thrilling than the one on this LP.

(All this coming from a HUGE FB fan that considers his solo work on par with Pixies'...)
