AKA the guy who sang on "Music Sounds Better With You." No idea if his forthcoming album is any good, but the single is absolutely killing me, especially the Alan Braxe remix. Very big and epic and sappy in all the best ways.

You can start threads like these without providing a "yousendit"

Actually, his "name" is Benjamin Diamond.

The Alan Braxe mix is great. The album altogether is more pop/rock a la Louis Phillipe than Daft Punk though.

I really like the Benjamin Diamond album from last year. It's very pretty, parts of it make me think of the Aluminum Group actually. I bet Erlend Oye loves it.

"These emotions" is especially ace. Or diamond.

One day, my entire life will feel like the Alan Braxe remix of this song.

My digital love for this mix is quite genuine.

There's a Braxe mix of a different song, at least according to my iPod, but I can't recall it off hand. What I do know is that 'Let's Get High' is the superior product.

Can a mod or someone change this thread title? I dunno what I was thinking when I typed it up, I had the sleeve right in front of me.

Somehow up until now I've overlooked "Sun Is Shining", the final track on Out Of Myself. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, it is the most amazing song ever.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 11 September 2006 12:22 (nineteen years ago)

I am still utterly obsessed with the Braxe version of Let's Get High, which is by miles the best thing he's ever done. Will I like Benjamin's other stuff?

Also is it Benjamin Diamond or Benjamin Stardust?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 11 September 2006 12:32 (nineteen years ago)

Benjamin Diamond.

The original "Let's Get High" is actually very similar to the Braxe version, just a bit more guitary and less monolithically thumping. There are quite a few tracks on the album in a similar vein - I recommend "Lights in The Sky", "I Wish" and especially "Sun Is Shining" as tracks to check out.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 11 September 2006 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

his first album, "Strange Attitude", was pretty striking at first (shiny surfaces, a cover of Oran "Juice" Jones' "The Rain", etc.) but the buzz wore off fast...(let's get a sugar-high?)...filter-disco Prince copyism that has you eventually hankering for the real thing, more or less...
