Jesus Christ, I think I remember hearing about these clowns a few months back. I want to go back in time and kill the Beatles now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 August 2005 02:04 (twenty years ago)

they do a cover of "lies" by the thompson twins! (it sucks.)

strng hlkngtn, Tuesday, 9 August 2005 02:10 (twenty years ago)

one of the songs was also co-written by paul stanley! (it also sucks.)

they kinda look like the hives (or at least a NJ emo band circa 95) mated with the backstreet boys

strng hlkngtn, Tuesday, 9 August 2005 02:11 (twenty years ago)

they are also all graduates of the berklee college of music

(like, for instance, danny's dad once forgot his birthday in one of the years when his mom had custody and he never really got over it.)

(and brett really likes that pom juice. but if he drinks too much of it he gets acid reflux.)

About two minutes into the video -- yes, the scene with the kid taking a cell phone pic of the band -- I thought this band was just a tool for an extended Nokia commercial, and was ready to hear the announcer chime in and see the Nokia logo footer.

What do you want The Click to achieve?
"I want The Click to be the biggest new band in the world. I don't want to stare at a wall trying to create the most offbeat or unpredictable music, rather I want The Click to broadcast to people in a very understandable and exciting way....

....I also want The Click to be a band that carries ourselves with dignity. Not a self loathing or malicious act; I want to be fresh and fun."

The aptly named Eric Dill, frontman of ! TC5 !

The single "Just the Girl" was written by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne/Ivy/"That Thing You Do!" fame, for whatever that's worth.

mattS, Tuesday, 9 August 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

They sort of remind me of a peppier Evan and Jaron.

Jeff Reguilon (Talent Explosion), Tuesday, 9 August 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

They make Louis XIV sound like Faust.

donut ferry (donut), Tuesday, 9 August 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

Jeanne (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 00:00 (twenty years ago)

To be totally rockist about it, I guess I could be glad there's music being made for 12-year-old girls that involves actual instruments again.

Lyra Jane (Lyra Jane), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)
