Waddayathink? No New York. I have also made a lot of CDs with Belgian Musick.

helenfordsdale, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Just burned 'Bollywood Funk' an hour ago. Theremins can be on-the-one too! Everybody should hear this.

dave q, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I burned 8 CDs over the weekend, cleaning out my laptop hard drive. The best one was the collection of bootlegs - Girls On Top, Osymiso, Frenchbloke, Hellraiser etc. which I've been listening to every chance I got over all weekend.

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

tom we know you're a selfish bastard. anthony was asking about CDs you burned for yer friends. ;-)

helenfordsdale, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

was the osymyso one pat'n'peg, or something else. are other osmyso tracks as good as pat'n'peg?

gareth, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually the last CD I should have literally burned was probably the Roches. God I hate their singing.

helenfordsdale, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Cds I burned were for my friends to hear at Club Sussed!!

Oh OK. I've only just got my burner - the next CD I'm going to burn is for Sarah and will be Big Rig Classics.

Gareth - the osymiso one is Introspection, and I think one or two of the other mixes may be by him too. It is very good though it takes a while for you to get past the "bits and pieces" factor. Tanya just forwarded some grumpy e-mail from him which I feel a bit bad about.

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Pat'n'Peg is the worst one I've heard. Get more Osymyso! I've been feverishly downloading a lot of bootlegs, but I don't have any CDs right now. I think the last one was probably made up of Groke/Listening Chamber stuff...

emil.y, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom :
if i wanted a copy of Big Rig burned from you what would i have to do ?

anthony, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i've tried to get into groke/filepile to download and it says they're not taking any new members. so i can't get ANY of the things on there (unless...someone here that is very kind and trusting of me lets me use their id/password - send me email if thats ok - and i can burn loads of lovely things onto cdr in return or something)

gareth, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anthony: ask me and offer a trade. This is contingent on me mastering this tricky burning business mind you.

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm
Alright , what do you want ?

anthony, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I dont know - a country-for-country swap seems fitting!

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm i have the new hank iii ?

anthony, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm more interested in some older-style stuff I think - all the country that's really tickled me has been 50s and 60s material, but recommendations are very welcome - I really dont have much!

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i have vol. 5 and 6 of the american folk collection, the harry smith one ?

anthony, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Let's try this again - please would you burn me a CD Helen?! (I'm assuming we are nearly neighbours.) Pretty please? E-mail me.

Jeff W, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've burned afew copies of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for my friends. I'm trying to get some self assurance that this record is amazing.

Brock K, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anthony I will email you about the trade!

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot seems a bit dreary to me but dropping them for it was assholish to say the least.

Tom, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

In the late 80s, I used to make a mixtape with World Party's Goodbye Jumbo on the A and The Sundays Reading Writing and Arithmetic on the B.
In the early 90s. I did the same with Smashing Pumpkins Gish on the A and Nirvanas Bleach on the B.
To this date, I've made many converts. Unfortunately, too many Clueless Yoyos that I haven't met yet out there seem to think that Siamese Dream is the Pumpkins debut, and so they don't know that its crap...and that their REAL debut is the masterwerk. As far as I'm concerned, Gish Is what Pink Floyd is promising to be, and isn't.
That should create some interesting flames from the Floyd-drones.

Lord Custos, Tuesday, 12 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

THe Avalanches - Gimix and Ibiza.

charlie the tuna, Wednesday, 13 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I burned Whipping Boy's Heartworm for a friend by request and as a way of saying thanks and keep the promos coming, friend.

Curt, Wednesday, 13 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And a good album that is too.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 13 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

whoa lord custos, dude you're like blowing my mind here man.

ethan, Wednesday, 13 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Law enforcement to thread! Illegal activity in progress! ;)

I'm just mad because my computer has suddenly decided to stop burning CDs at all after trying to install R*xi* onto it. Now my Win98 partition is so screwed up I can't put a CD into the drive at all without blue-screening, and my WinXP partition gives me an error every time I boot. Time to reinstall. Bah.
