I mean, WTF?

Should be WCS (Worst Case Scenario). hah! But anyway been addressed already by my coolio friend Arien. (Thanks for reminding me to send a IdealCrash copy to Ned.) Classick? Or Dud? I can't overstate the importance of this band - or at least the singer Tom Barman -for our local scene.

love them. increasingly so. The Ideal Crash is excellent, and so was In A Bar, Under The Sea...

Good band. "Instant Street" was one of my favourite songs of 1999. I preferred "In a Bar.." to "Ideal Crash" as it was more experimental and rougher, more beefheartish, more exciting.

I think "The Ideal Crash" stuck with me more because the nuances are more subtle. It got under my skin more quickly. Basically it's more pop.

'Suds and Soda' is ace, but everything else was a bit dull... they always seemed to be trying hard. Indie is a very singles medium, I reckon, and a number of bands made on single and that was it... Other examples off the top of my head - The Breeders (Cannonball), a dutch band called the Nightblooms (a song called 'Never Dream at All, i think - ace stop/start thing), and i still like the first Gene single too.

I disagree. The problem with dEUS was maybe the fact they wanted to cover too much ground. They had short attention span. Jumping from Tom Waits to Zappa. From Pere Ubu to Nick Drake. Sometimes they were a bit overbearing but never dull. Theme From TurnPike? And what about Roses?!? It is wrong to expect a Suds'n'Soda part II. I think even the MySister=MyClock has great moments. Their latest single is a Latin Muzak Classick.
