Usher - "You Got It Bad"

Ignoring the guitar solo (gee, thanks, Babyface, you twerp, for bringing the guitar back into R&B), this is the sort of stuff that just makes me cry (on the inside) like a poor little boy looking for some love, or even a little valentine card from someone that doesn't even like me with a choo-choo-choo on the cover so she can walk home with me not even wearing a coat even though IT'S FEBRUARY 14TH!

Yeah, I'd really like that right now.

Share with us your stories of sobbing or solace, y'all.

I bought my sweetie The Lovin' Spoonful's Greatest Hits for v-day.

I'll try to attend (no tickets yet) tonight's Ryan Adams concert in Frankfurt with her. He should break our heart, shouldn't he?

alex in mainhattan, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I reached out and pimp-slapped Sterling for rubbing his romantic happiness in our faces. No wait, that's rude of me. ;-)

I...am doing nothing much musically. Tonight I'm getting ready for the New York trip, that'll take my mind off things -- I think I'll just put on some evil music and watch more Olympics.

He should break our heart, shouldn't he?

He'd definitely break mine.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Huggy Bear's "February 14th" of course. If that don't put yr significant other in the mood .... no wait

Gee, no wonder it SUCKS.

David Raposa, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I might put on Oasis tonight while I'm recovering from a cold and trying to clean up so that Ned doesn't have to sleep in a disgusting living room, I don't know if this counts.

Nick Drake - Northern Sky

poops mcgee, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's hardly the most romantic song ever recorded (or is it?), but I'd suggest If You're Looking For a Way Out by Odyssey.

A close second would be, of course, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack.

Sean Guthrie, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick Drake - Northern Sky
YESSSSS!!!!!! Cat Power - The Covers Record Nina Simone - For All We Know

Arien, Thursday, 14 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd like to hear Nina Simone cover "Northern Sky", for that matter.

Mandee, Friday, 15 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

alex in mainhattan, Friday, 15 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

At last I am free by Chic or life on MTV by Miss Kittin and the hacker. Both are sexy but in different ways.
