Abandoned vehicle for ambitious Trevor Horn wannabe producer. Executors of some of the most bizarre hit singles of the '80s (has there ever been a weirder #1 than "My Camera Never Lies"?). Probably more consistent than Dollar, because they had the wit not to get shot of their producer and go it alone. Tory voters who had a #1 with an anti-Thatcher song.

Scrapping over who owns what now seems to me a bit like two incontinent 78-year-olds battling for the last remaindered Max Bygraves tea towel in the bargain basement of Smith Bros.

Andy Hill = very underrated early '80s sonic architect. Also responsible for Bardo's One Step Further, David Van Day's extraordinary solo single Young Americans Talking and - eventually - producing Sudden Sway!

How funny was that documentary last night though? straight from the "Brass eye" school of film making. I especially liked the bit with Van Day inthe library trying to look academic as he perused through the law books in a bid to stop the Evil Bobby G from stealing the name of the band of which only he had been an original member (He couldn't resist looking at the camera tho.

Its a shame that ex fizzers Jay Aston, Cheryl Baker and Shelley Preston didn't throw their Pop irons into the fire and confuse the issue even more, but even so, essential viewing.

Best tracks, For Bucks fizz, land of make believe was a classic. Not sure about the others though.......Dollar had some great singles, Shooting star, Videoteque, Mirror mirror, And Hand held in black and white Which was produced by Trevor Horn and was the inspiration for Martin Fry to hire him to produce Lexicon of love.

Wonder what happened to Teresa ?

Notice how I leap on the vaguest mention of Sudden Sway...

What Sway stuff did Mr Hill produce Marcello? Surely not Sing Song???

Yes, the "commercial" one of the eight versions issued.

Ms Bazar appeared on C4 "Top 10 Duets" last weekend. Failed solo career (one single "The Big Kiss" and one aborted album) - now housewife in Australia but in considerably better shape and form than old DVD.

Grrr. You beat me to it, Marcello. Can't even do my Bobby "The Builder" joke now. Must get up earlier in the morning.

I had a soft spot for the late-in-the-day "New Beginning (Mamba Seyra)". V funny doc, as i mentioned elsewhere, that David Brent style final speech from Mr Van Day was unbearable, complete with snatched glances at the camera. what a pillock.

And no mention of DVD's mobile burger bar! Unbelievable!

Funniest programme of the week!

The video of DVD performing Oh L'Amour for the squaddies was tragic.

He was so self-delusional it was unbelievable. For him to actually think that he could have hit singles or albums again with Bucks Fizzs' name behind him is amazing. At least Bobby G had some perspective on what kind of band they were nowadays.

Surely Bobby G girlfriend = David St Hubbins girlfriend in Spinal Tap
