I feel quite bad about beating up on Bloc Party the other day - by way of mitigation i'm in the middle phase of an SSRI withdrawal (five years worth) so i'm due a few peaks and troughs - presumably Kele et al would prefer that i dumped on them here than topped myself in the garden shed - that still doesn't quite excuse my misappropriation of the word 'pretentious'

anyhows, feeling guilty i checked the album again AND I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT!! so problem solved. you're allowed to take yourselves seriously if you're as good (and potentially as great) as this. keep doing what you're doing BP, we need more like you...

but come after me and i'll still staple your nuts to the floor ;)
