TS: "Down On The Street" vs. "Down On The Street (Single Mix)"

This, to me, is the greatest thing about the Fun House reissue. (I already had a burn of Declaration Of War, so was familiar with the "TV Eye" where Iggy pretends he's a wrestling announcer.) The single mix of "Down On The Street" cuts the song by a minute, but actually makes the guitar heavier, and best of all, adds Doors/? and the Mysterians organ to the track, which blares call-and-response style against Iggy's vocals. The first time you hear it, you'll stare down at your iPod in disbelief, but after 45 seconds or so, it starts to actually work, and you can almost imagine some unsuspecting radio listener circa 1970/71 being converted to Stooge-worship by this muscular, Steppenwolf-like track.

What say others?

"best of all"? It's a fucking travesty.

In other words, I CHOOSE THE ORIGINAL LP VERSION, and not the sanitized-for-your protection single mix.

it may be sanitized, but its still got a long way to go till its sanitary, alex.

the organ is a little gimmicky/crass as an overture to doors fans. i choose original, but the single version is interesting to have, and a fun listen...

three weeks pass...
Whoever's idea it was to add organ to this track deserves a standing ovation.

I also believe that anyone who listens to the version of "Dirt" on the second disc 3 times will turn into a hippie. Ah, the perils of the Stooges.
