Am I the only one who is smitten with Ye-Ye?

I have recently gone absolutely ape shit for ye-ye (60s French girl-pop). I got a couple of comps (Femmes de Paris, Filles Gone Wild) and some stuff by Sylvie, France Gall, Francoise Hardy, April March, Stone, Sheila, and a few others. It's hard to find the 60s stuff where some of these artists put out godawful albums in the 80s.

So, does anyone share my fascination with the this stuff? Is there any must-hear stuff that I'm missing?

Re Francoise Hardy, you must get the album: Ma Jeunesse Fout Le Camp, or the Vogue double compilation (the one with sleevenotes by Bob Stanley).

Serge Gainsbourg's Comic Strip comp is an absolute must.

Which France Gall albums do you have? There's a great 4-CD box set, then all you need is her album 1968.

I bought a double DVD (19 quid in HMV)last week, btw: about 6 hours worth of Serge Gainsbourg footage including duets with France Gall etc.

Agreed on Serge - but so much more than just Comic Strip - Melody Nelson for a start, even if it was recorded in 1971.

If you're in the mood for something a bit weirder, then Brigitte Fontaine can be great.
