In your opinions, what is the best Khanate album? It seems no one I know can agree. I haven't heard the new one - how does it rate against the s/t one?

The new one is really good. I haven't heard the others except in passing - they sound nice. I'll definitely buy them eventually. Burning Witch is still my favorite O'Malley-affiliated band ever tho

It's either Things Viral or the new one. I don't like the debut much at all.

It strikes me as more a case of four tracks compiled together and the vocals don't sound as much part of the whole web of sound to me.

Nothing's going to top Things Viral, IMHO.

In the UK, the promotional item seems to be a nice mug for a cup of tea with 'Everyone Dies' written on the side.

Read into that what you will.

If some crazed Khanate fan pours a mug of scalding cocoa over a harmless granny, the damage that might be done to the band's career doesn't bear thinking about

"I’d come to rehearsal off the subway 5 blocks away and I could hear Stephen tuning his guitar. It was ridiculous."

I liked that quote from the interview you posted above, Herman.

FYI, if you missed them the first time, Sacred Bones has reissues of the first two Khanate albums coming in December on LP/CD.
