Has anyone heard 'And the Glass Handed Kites' yet? I was a huge fan of the last album and am very interested to know if this is as good as/better than - I've not seen any reviews of it yet

Aloha..
The album is fantastic. Better than Frengers. There is so many beautiful tracks but you have to listen

I like it, but still need to get the new Kashmir to compare

Eh Avi, you can't compare Kashmir and Mew, to different types of bands.. They are both very great bands, but totally different styles.
So if the new Kashmir album is going to be a "must buy" that doesn't make Mew's new cd less good.

I was just thinking more in terms of "big Danish band ready to take on the world". Everybody seems to be falling over themselves to hype Mew, but I think Kashmir is just as worthy and unjustly overlooked.

Kashmir? Have you even heard the new single? The Curse of Being A Girl sounds so much like Mew, im surprised that Kashmir didn't just change their name to Wem and act like it was a total coincidence. Mew at least have their own style, and "And The Glass Handed Kites" is by far the best album of 05 yet. Kashmir are simply a band, who try out a style for two albums, and try to figure out what will give them a better chance of global succes. They started out as a pretty good funkrock band, then killed it with their pathetically whiney "The Good Life" album (I know, every single dane in the world hates me for saying that, since most of you see it as the best), and then redeemed themselves with the marvelous "Zitilites" album, which still doesn't come close to anything Mew has made though. And now, they're simply going for the Mew sound, trying to make it as poppy, and mainstream as possible, hoping that it will get them a nice little deal with EMI or Sony BMG. To me, it makes no difference if they've got Reed and Bowie on the album it's still just a desperate hope for succes. And lets be honest, Kashmir really needs it to prove themselves now adays, don't they? I mean, four albums, and one EP, and still, all the other good bands in Denmark are going abroad (The Raveonettes, Grand Avenue, Warwick Avenue, Mew, Junior Senior, all those metal bands, ect.). Kashmir should simply just admit that they want a piece of the action. But back to Mew:
I still can't make up my mind on whether i prefer Frengers or And The Glass Handed Kites, since both albums are amazing, and no one who appreciates fine music should be without either album. Buy And The Glass Handed Kites as soon as you get the chance! It's amazing!

so how would you factor Saybia in then? to be honest, I really don't know much about Kashmir's backstory and am only familiar with "Zitilites", which as you say yourself, is good stuff.
I got the Warwick Ave disc recently, but the first spin made no impression whatsoever.
