Converting AAC (MP4) files to AIF or WAV on a Mac

I downloaded some songs from the Apple iMusic store, and now I want to open one in Peak so I can select a sample to make a loop. The Peak application will open the document, but it appears to be all silence. I know they are using some anti-piracy software trick on me, but there must be a way to go around it, right? Help a brother out...

Not sure if possible on Mac but:

Burn to CD than rip as WAV.

You can't convert MP4s to MP3s with iTunes?

go into itunes - preferences

click on importing, chooose "import as" - select WAV or AIF

close the dialoge box

highlight the tunes you want to convert so they are blue.

itunes drop down menu - advanced then click "convert selection to WAV/ AIFF

Yeah if it is, I'm pretty sure that the burn to CD, rip to WAV thing is the easiest way.

or just play the tune and record the bit you want to sample using wiretap.
