"Baby Blue" doesn't necessarily seem out of place on Easter Everywhere but it sometimes feels that way to me. What are songs that shouldn't have been on a record.

Sleep deprivation has turned me into a four year old babbling fool. aka Neue Anwzerz

1 album's worth of songs on "The White Album". Most of side 1 of "Abbey Road". "Party For Your Right To Fight" on Public Enemy's 2nd album. "Pretty Suzanne" from The Monks Live at Cavestomp.

I vote we just replace all of these songs with "Don't Give Me No Crack" by Shinehead.

The only two songs that shouldn't be on the White Album are the stupid "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da" and "Back In The USSR"

Related (but different?) question. I am assuming helenfo... wants good (or okay) tracks which nonetheless seem wrong for the record they are on. Something like "Outside Tokyo" by The Stranglers, maybe?

Also must mention "I before E except after C" by Yazoo which is a silly, experimental (ie GRATE) track on their first album ... *is*, I should say, unless you get the CD version. Someone clearly decided it was out of place....

Yeah. One that is pretty good/average but doesn't fit in with the rest. An anomaly?

Any 'hidden track' ever.

Every one of those stupid f#@$ing clown ballads on the 1st Electric Prunes album. Actually, I can think of whole bunch of songs from 60's records ("Mind Gardens", "Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk", etc). These songs all suck though and don't belong anywhere. I always thought "Soon" sounded a bit weird on Loveless, but it's also the best track (or one of 'em). "Pluto" on Homogenic is another one. Good song, but weirdly out of place.

People say that "Guitar Innovator" didn't belong on Smog's "Forgotten Foundation" but i think its the rest of the album that shouldn't be there.

I always thought that 'come clean' should not have been put on Jeru the Damaja's 1st album, at least not the mix that ended up on there. It sounds as if the original mix for the 12" single was put on the album with all the other songs mixed way later. Net result is 'come clean' sounding really muddy and crappy, other songs much brighter and louder. Maybe kind of nitpicky, but just mixing the song again during the LP sessions or even trying to fix it in mastering... something.
