A Little Time

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Saturday, 10 September 2005 07:02 (twenty years ago)

I'm very sorry if it appears to devalue all of their work from the subsequent decade, but if I can OPO for all time, it has to be "Song For Whoever." (the 7" version, even though the album version is better, just because I used to listen to it every day and didn't even hear the longer one for years afterwards.)

I refuse to choose between "Old Red Eyes is Back" (the Official Theme Tune of the Noodle Vague World Drinking Cup Side) and "You Play Glockenspiel and I'll Play Drums" and "We'll Deal With You Later" (best song about executing bourgeouis scum evah.)

Let Love Speak Up Itself.

The Paul Heaton version, that is. I don't even have it because some dastardly pressing error meant that my copy of Carry On Up The Charts sports the- blimey, I've forgotten her name- version. Jacqueline, erm.

My sister had Choke. I recorded it off that.

"Old Red Eyes Is Back"

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Saturday, 10 September 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

I'm tempted to pick the hilarious and beautiful bossanova-ized version of "Don't Fear the Reaper" off last year's covers album, but that's probably just 'cause it's the BS track I've played the most in recent memory.

If I really must POO, I'll say "You Keep It All In." First BS song I heard and still #1.
