Here's the big news: Fanatic PR & Marketing has begun servicing music to blogs.
You may have heard of Fanatic. We're a boutique artist development that has spent the last seven years promoting our favorite artists and record labels to press and radio. Our current client roster includes Sufjan Stevens/Asthmatic Kitty, Kill Rock Stars, Load Records, Troubleman, Barsuk, Morr Music, GSL, Ghostly International, Plug Research and Rough Trade, among others.
We've developed an electronic delivery system that will allow you to download complete presskits (including albums in MP3 format, with artwork) directly from us. Upcoming Fanatic projects include new records by Deerhoof, Lightning Bolt and the Gossip, in addition to dozens of lesser-known acts.
Posting MP3s is fine. We're going to ask bloggers to abide by the "keep it online for a limited time and share a link to buy it legally" that appears to have more-or-less become standard.
So keep your eyes on your mailbox for follow-up instructions on how to log in and download new music through us. If you're interested in receiving physical mailings from us, please respond with your mailing address. If you don't want any more e-mails from us (I promise they'll be brief and informational in nature), let us know and we'll take you off the list.
