Holy shit, the packaging on Takk SUCKS

It doesn't come with a booklet, it's like 1.5 times taller than a regular CD case, the CD comes in tight cardboard, and the packaging is so thin that my CD came cracked so now I have to go back to the store to get a new one. What happened to jewel cases?

Uh oh. Is this US copies as well, or just the expensive "limited edition" ones in Teh Europe?

What would a booklet have in it anyway?
the lyrics?

"Ooooooooiiiiihhhhhh iba iba"

yeah, i'm going to buy this and "Love Kraft" tomorrow. and maybe that OOIOO reissue.

That's odd. The FLACed version I downloaded doesn't bend or crack at all.

Twilight Joe, Tuesday, 13 September 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

it kinda looks and feels like a grocery bag too

My CD came out fine. I have no problem with the packaging. The music is astonishing. Uh, so there.

Yeah, you're right, I'd much rather have a boxy plastic case that will eventually scratch and crack, bounded by an impossible-to-remove sticker that for some reason keeps the top from opening, even though the freaking CD is enclosed by shrinkwrap.

Actually, I love the packaging and the music. *Splthhhhhhhhh*

haha, christian, you totally scooped me on this.

i just got home and opened it up, and i thought my copy was missing a booklet.

i like what's here though, i was just hoping for a booklet. their other albums have lovely booklets.

this album is packaged in such a way that i felt compelled to put the cd itself in a normal case immediately after taking off the shrinkwrap -- packaging problem solved. i just didn't want to risk scratching the cd by repeatedly removing/replacing it. i think it looks nice otherwise, though.

I'll grant that it's kinda tough to remove the CD if your thumb is greasy.....but who handles CDs with greasy thumbs anyway?

\jlgbv\hg, Wednesday, 14 September 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

xtra frills don't improve my listening experience.

rssgnonns, Wednesday, 14 September 2005 22:11 (twenty years ago)

But there aren't any extra frills....

There was an extended artwork edition for just 8 euros extra in the shop here. It probably did have a booklet with blurry pictures of whales cumming in beautiful Iceland?
