Hi,
It's Andrew Prinz from Mahogany. Our studio was broken into last night when we were at our show. The following equipment was taken from our studio in Brooklyn between 7PM and 1AM:

* Macintosh G5 w/ MOTU PCI card installed
* Micromoog synthesizer with specific mods
* Akai MPC 2000 sampler with 8 outputs
* Mackie 32*4 mixer
* Audio Technica AT 4060 microphone, no power supply
* Fender P-Bass, cream
* Techtronix 11x17 flatbed image scanner with transparency adapter
* numerous microphones:
*747 audio cr-176 (silver, no brand logo, cr1-76 printed below screen. roll off and pad, 7 pin connector. Very, very few of these are in the us. Part of a stereo pair. No power supply)
*Akg D112
*Ampex (like sm57 w/ 4pin connector)
*Beyer m201
*Beyer m380 (black w/ disney engraving)
*Electrovoice 635a
*MXL v69me (no power supply or accessories)
*Oktava mc012 (w/ pad, omni and cardiod)
*RFT dm 622 (small ruggedly built blue dynamic w/ large tuchel connector)
*Sennheiser md 421 (x2) (1 white w/ small tuchel connector, one black w/white clip and diagonal dent on top of screen)
*Shure sm57 (x2) (1 w/ black tape surrounding base of grill)

Any tips or assistance would be greatly appreciated. This equipment is necessary for the completion of our almost-finished record. "Connectivity!" could be lost forever. A Reward for conviction is offered.

Please contact us at mahogany@simdisc.com.
Thanks,
A.

My first thought was that Moodymann's gear had gotten stolen, and for a moment I was wonedring if all his samplers were indeed, mahogany brown.

the album keeps getting moved back but maybe now that there is a cover shot on the darla site it may actually really come out in june.

Via Autopia Music Mahogany reveal "Supervitesse" video to download.

On this track, also produced by Robin Guthrie!, you can really hear the New Order influence mingling with Slowdive. Connectivity! is available for pre-order through Darla records but the release date has been set to mid-October with an Ulrich Shnauss remix coming soon for 'Supervitesse'.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Wednesday, 23 August 2006 13:25 (nineteen years ago)

what a lovely video! the couple in it remind me of shoestrings. oh, this song is so great... i can't wait until october!

Anyone familiar with the Memory Column comp?? Its the only one I've come across in stores and I wondered if its worth purchasing. I guess I don't like the idea of the first record I own by a band being a collection of rarities. Perhaps the "early works" are some of their best??

Sir Echo (Sir Echo), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:57 (nineteen years ago)

well, ok - the compilation is excellent.. not a dud tune. "wagons-lits" and "sophie taueber arp" being two highlights.

however the new album is better.

I'm finally getting round to listening to *all* of Connectivity! (instead of just all the guthrie remixes) and hey, this album is Just Fucking Great. Jim you can punch me now for not listening to this sooner.

Trayce, Friday, 18 May 2007 01:54 (eighteen years ago)

'mantissa' is the one that popped out at me about a month ago. oddly, the rest of the album has not broken though yet, aside from 'supervitesse'.

there are some incredible songs on the 'memory column' comp, esp. 'lynn minmay'. i'm somewhat sad that they've left that airier sound behind.

derrrick, Friday, 18 May 2007 06:16 (eighteen years ago)

I loved "Domino Ladder Beta" but man this is really grabbing me. Even the cheesier pop like "Neo plastic boogie-woogie" has a certain Beach Boys style shimmery charm. "One Plus One equals Three or More" is awesome. Damn I love this album.

Trayce, Friday, 18 May 2007 10:18 (eighteen years ago)

I've not heard them on record, but they were immense when I saw them in London a few weeks ago (Water Rats, after the Bloc Party tour). 4 guitars, 2 basses. Loud. Looking forward to hearing the record.

Bocken Social Scene, Friday, 18 May 2007 10:56 (eighteen years ago)

Connectivity is great!! The band often gets slapped with the Factory revivalist tag, and I can see that a bit, but they have something most of those bands don't, a good rhythm section. The drum and bass sounds on this record are very fine indeed.

leavethecapital, Wednesday, 4 July 2007 22:54 (eighteen years ago)

Not a bad live clip that! Good clean sound. Female singer's a bit off in her chorus though :/
