*I downloaded that Lush track today, together with a few more of their cover versions. In retrospect, this (doing covers) seems to have been their forte. (I have just spent 10 minutes trying to explain this statement, but need more time so I'll just hit submit now I think).

I actually wouldn't say they were best at that, but there's something about the presentation of that band that makes them ideal candidates for it. Probably it's that they were actually very funny: I seem to recall an early-90s period of poring over their interviews and continually laughing myself silly.
