Did anyone see this film when it was on the DJ Shadow tour a few years ago, or has anyone seen it anywhere else?

Basically the idea is a concert featuring a bunch of DJs (Cut Chemist, NuMark, Shortkut, etc.) and some famous session drummers (Earl Palmer, James Gadson) that are often sampled in breakbeats.

The trailer makes it look a little like one of those clusterfuck all-star guitar tributes where you've got like 10 guitarists slamming the same chords, but I'm curious if it gets any better, especially since Earl Palmer is one of my favorites.

this was very boring. the drummers look non plussed at the DJs cutting up their breaks and the concert between the drummers and DJs is just an anti climax as the drummers are just playing what amount to loops. the mini docu was good though, just to see the drummers trying to look impressed.

In the trailer there's this big whoop moment where Cut Chemist announced NuMark and then NuMark does this really sad little solo on the drum pads like it's the greatest thing ever, and you can almost see the session drummers thinking OMGWTF.

It's a shame. Something like that could be pretty cool if they just took one or two djs and one or two drummers and let them work off each other, but what I saw felt like everybody trying to talk at once.

OTM about that solo
lamest attempt at a solo ever
the thing about dvds like this is that the ninja tune core audience and straight no chaser-type crowd will eat it up and think its amazing
